![]() ![]() Ultimately, it enabled us to examine urban development issues in a way that brought together globally-promoted principles, while considering local peculiarities. MAXQDA made it possible to synthesize and quantify document variables and thematic and evaluative codes. The Document Portrait was used to depict the proportion of text segments dedicated to each urban development issue in the analyzed documents. MAXQDA’s visual tools (MAXMaps and Document Portrait) enabled us to present the links between the urban development dimensions and evaluative codes. Complex Code Configurations was used to illustrate the distribution and frequencies of the combination of thematic and evaluative codes. The Smart Coding Tool was used to re-check the codes and coded segments for consistency in coding according to the methodology and to create and apply evaluative codes in addition to thematic codes. We highlight the usage of four MAXQDA tools, the Smart Coding Tool, Complex Code Configurations, Document Portrait, and MAXMaps. That information is certainly useful, but the reality depends on whether they provide the capabilities your team needs, whether they integrate with your other tools, what. This chapter provides an example of an urban development issue in the city of Gori, Georgia. Whether or not MAXQDA or NVivo is the right data analysis option for you can't be determined by simply looking at ratings and the number of features offered by each solution. The design incorporates a combination of different methodological approaches, including systematic literature review, evaluative qualitative text analysis, and transformative mixed methods research. A FREE lite-versionfor basic features and the suite of additional software may make it worth a look, though, if your computer is compatible.Prioritization research design is an approach to identify priorities in development strategies on various areas using MAXQDA. QDA Miner - An older interface and no Mac support hinder this otherwise-solid and full-featured software.Dedoose - Designed for mixed methods projects with fewer but more complex codes (allows ratings), this full-featured online software is a solid choice in some circumstances, especially distributed groups with somewhat complex projects, or those that would benefit from monthly pricing.Atlas.ti Cloud - Slick and colorful, but not full-featured, this is a great software for first-time users with uncomplicated needs. ![]() Online: These make it easier to collaborate with others and offer per-month pricing, (~$10-15/month), good for shorter projects ![]() See this video on Qualitative Analysis Using Excel (TrixieMay Racer)
